Introducing Jose and Max to Naples Massage & Neuromuscular
We Are Pleased To...
It is with a great deal of excitement that we would like to introduce ourselves Jose Guerra and Maxine Lamoureux the proud owners of Avalon Performance Therapy and now of Naples Massage and Neuromuscular as well!
Our journey started in 2011 when we met in college. Upon graduation we started our health and wellness business, offering massage therapy. Over the years we took as many certifications and specialized courses possible to better serve our clientele, eventually offering osteopathic manual therapy, rehabilitation training, group training class, and postpartum mom and baby class as well.
Max served as a subject matter expert for the board of massage therapy of Ontario (CMTO) developing new exams questions, reviewing translations of each exam and as an examiner for the practical exam to be able to practice as a Registered Massage Therapist in the province of Ontario. In June Max also completed her Canadian Osteopathic Manual Practioner training.
Jose was rated number one Osteopathic Manual Practioner in Ottawa, for 2 years in a row, the last 2 years of our practice In Canada before moving here. Jose has advanced training in rehabilitation and training. In Canada, he would coach individuals and teams of hockey, soccer, swimming, and others, but where we made the biggest impact was working with first responders. Helping rehab and guide paramedic units, firefighters, and specialized units of the RCMP, enabling them to avoid surgeries and stay in the field.
We are proud of our approach to helping our clients. We take a global approach first, then we go specific, then global again. We look at the whole body and assess the client's needs. The initial assessment dictates the treatment program and the rehabilitation program. We remove the cause of the client’s complaint and then work on their symptoms. Quite often, after removing the cause, we reassess and find out that we don’t need to work on the symptoms anymore, since the cause is removed, the symptoms have faded away. We equip our clients with tools to complement their sessions with us, as means of exercises or modifications of their lifestyle, like sleeping positions, and exercises. Then we reintegrate good movement of the affected areas so the body regains the original movement pattern that it was meant to do in the first place. Our approach goes beyond making the person feel better for a day or two, our approach changes lives. Reviews after reviews from our happy clientele in Canada confirm the success of our approach.
In 2022 after a lot of thought and research we chose to explore the opportunities in Florida. When we came down we were connected with Tabatha, who then offered to sell Naples Massage and Neuromuscular to us.
We are honored to merge our experiences from Canada with the exceptional team of therapists and receptionists at Naples Massage and Neuromuscular to serve our Naples and surrounding Southwest Florida community!
Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and youtube where we showcase our therapists, services, and share valuable tips.
Thank you for the warm welcome. Our family is delighted to be here in beautiful Naples.
Looking forward to seeing you in the clinic soon!
Yours in health,
Max & Jose
